The MHERC Community Health Coaches Core supports translational research and community health projects that address social determinants of health and other barriers to mitigate health disparities and achieve better health outcomes. Community Health Coaches, recruited from the communities they serve, are uniquely suited to connect with and address the needs and concerns of the residents.

Our Coaches connect with communities and implement research and community outreach activities, serving as community health educators, facilitators, and project-specific community health workers. The Coaches Core faculty and staff assist with development, planning, and tailoring of community-based projects or studies, to ensure meaningful and impactful community connections and participant engagement.
