Bio
Benjamin Woodrow Saccomano, M.D., comes to us from Colorado, where he often spent his weekends skiing and cheering on the Denver Broncos with his family. His pursuit into the neurosciences began diversely: working as a nurse-assistant on a stroke/TBI rehabilitation unit, creating myofascial rehabilitation plans for college athletes and developing experimental animal models of TBI and inflammation. The confluence of these experiences culminated in the dream of being able to directly intervene with said pathologies as a neurosurgeon. Dr. Parr says he is honored and humbled to be allowed the opportunity to train at UAB and serve the patients of Birmingham and the greater Alabama area. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys brewing coffee, watching sci-fi films and teaching heavy board games to friends.
