  • The UAB Women and Infants’ Center (WIC), which opened in February 2010, is a $140 million facility. The facility, freestanding at over 400,000-square-feet, has 13 maternity evaluation rooms, 17 labor and delivery rooms, 18 antepartum beds, 41 postpartum beds, 4 Cesarean-section OR suites, and 30 beds for gynecology and gynecologic oncology patients

       - 56 RNICU bassinets
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology:
       - 13 obstetrical evaluation rooms
       - 17 labor and delivery rooms
       - 18 antepartum beds
       - 41 postpartum beds
       -  4 Cesarean-section ORs
       - 40 well baby bassinets
       - 30 beds for GynOnc and complex medical/surgical Gyn services
       - Reserved patient parking in advanced stages of pregnancy/labor
  • UAB now has 3 robots that the OB/GYN residents are specially trained on in gyn oncology, benign gynecology, urogyn, and REI. Upon completion of their residency, each resident will receive official robotic certification.
