At the UAB Center for Palliative and Supportive Care, our clinicians, researchers and community members continuously collaborate to create innovative content that can be implemented successfully in healthcare settings. UAB Advanced Communication Training (ACT) is designed to help providers, and healthcare interdisciplinary teams to cultivate patient/family‐centered, empathic and culturally appropriate communication, which will empower them to care even better for patients, families and one another.

ACT utilizes a cohort of interprofessional communication skills trainers, representing a range of disciplines and specialties. Our trainers are expected to contribute their expertise to ongoing case development as the communication curriculum is expanded to new disciplines and specialties.
