The Division of Pediatric Neurology serves to provide expertise in clinical care, education, research, and service for both the University and the Children’s of Alabama (COA) Health System. The Division’s mission is manifold; to provide outstanding clinical care and management for children with neurologic disorders in the State of Alabama as well as the surrounding region, to offer a scope of services that guarantees a comprehensive ability to care for virtually any type of neuropathology, to educate our colleagues no matter the stage of training or area of health care, to develop new knowledge in the field that is worthy of dissemination, and to work with institutions and the community as advocates for children as well as for the ideal of exemplary health care.

Outpatient Clinic Nurse Practitioners
Sarah Emily Wignall, CRNP
Emily is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in seizures and pediatric epilepsy at Children’s of Alabama. She sees patients in an outpatient setting and assists with First-Time Seizure Clinic. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Belmont University. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Epilepsy Monitoring Unit Nurse Practitioners
Sula Gillespie, MSN, CRNP
Sula Gillespie is one of the pediatric nurse practitioners in the Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Children's of Alabama. She received her Master of Science in Nursing -Clinical Nurse Specialist, then the Pediatric Practitioner degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is currently serving patients with epilepsy and families living with the challenges of diagnostic tests and treatment options. She is actively involved in the Epilepsy Foundation of Alabama Chapter raising awareness and funds for resources.
Jennifer Glenn, MSN, CRNP
Jennifer Glenn is one of the pediatric nurse practitioners in the Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Children's of Alabama. She specializes in epilepsy, and is certified through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She graduated with a BSN from University of Alabama at Birmingham and MSN from Emory University and has previous experience as an NP in outpatient pediatric neurology. Jennifer started working in the inpatient unit at Children's on the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in 2015.
Mallory Murphy, MSN, CRNP
Mallory Murphy specializes in epilepsy and is one of the pediatric nurse practitioners in the Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Children's of Alabama. She graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Master of Science in Nursing. She is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and has been employed with Children’s of Alabama since 2017.
