Our fellowship program provides ample clinical experiences with a busy outpatient service and a variety of inpatient consults. All fellowship activities occur on the UAB and Children's of Alabama campus in Birmingham, Alabama. The program is designed for extensive clinical experience in the first year followed by protected time for fellow-directed scholarly activity in the second and third years with the flexibility to address the specific needs of each fellow. We have opportunities to participate in research training programs sponsored by the UAB Rheumatology Division in addition to the opportunities available to all pediatric fellows through the UAB Department of Pediatrics. We have financial support for one fellow every 3 years through a generous donation from the Kennedy Family. In addition, we have fellowship funding through the Arthritis Foundation and the Rheumatology Research Foundation.
