Serving as the Department Value Officer for the UAB Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Brunner is instrumental in ensuring that quality remains a central focus at SRC.
With over two decades of experience as SRC’s Medical Director, Dr. Brunner has witnessed UAB Medicine's unwavering dedication to improving patient care and outcomes. This commitment is evident in their annual Performance Improvement Plan (PI Plan), which involves comprehensive contributions from all UAB Medicine members. The PI Plan is designed to foster a culture of excellence in patient care.
In his role, Dr. Brunner leverages collaborations with UAB Hospital, SRC, the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation's, frontline staff, administration, and trainees. His goal is to enhance quality outcomes and operational efficiency, with a strong emphasis on better communication across all levels. Dr. Brunner highlights the importance of system support for quality care, noting that UAB Medicine's dedication to providing resources and infrastructure is crucial for achieving superior patient experiences and long-term results.
