Biography

Samantha Baker, M.D., MSHPEd, is an assistant professor within the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery in the Department of Surgery.

Dr. Baker earned her undergraduate degree and her medical degree from Louisiana State University. She completed her general surgery residency at UAB, and spent 3 years as a Veterans Affairs research fellow for the Birmingham VA. While completing her residency, she also earned her M.S. in Health Professions Education from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. After completing a trauma surgery fellowship at LSU, she returned to UAB in 2024 as a faculty member.
