UAB is a large enterprise, connected by our shared sense of community. We encourage and invite students to adopt the shared values of the community. These community standards can be found in the UAB Strategic Plan (New Tab), Forging the Future and in the University Creed, The Blazer Way (New Tab).

In addition, several policies help staff to hold students and community members accountable to these standards.

The Student Conduct Code (“Code”) (New Tab) describes the standards of behavior for all students and student organizations and outlines rights and the process for adjudicating alleged violations. It is set forth in writing in order to give general notice of non-academic prohibited conduct.

The University expects individuals who live, work, teach, study within, or visit our University community to contribute positively to the environment and refrain from behaviors that threaten the freedom or respect that every member of our community deserves. Individuals who violate the Title IX Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, and Sexual Violence Policy (New Tab) will be subject to corrective action up to and including termination from employment or expulsion from the University. The University will respond promptly and effectively to Reports of Prohibited Conduct and will take appropriate action to prevent its occurrence, correct and address its effects, provide Supportive Measures, and, when warranted, issue discipline for violations of this Policy.
