About Red Folder
UAB is the first university in the United States to adopt the Okanagan Charter and become an internationally recognized Health Promoting University. Health Promoting Universities are an international community that aspires to transform the health and sustainability of current and future societies, strengthen communities, and contribute to the well-being of people, places, and the planet.
Because of our commitment to promoting health and well-being and supporting UAB students, the Division of Student Affairs has adopted an approach to supporting students, holding students accountable to our community standards, and remembers our Blazers who we lost during the year. We do this in the following ways:
- Focusing on a student’s wellbeing through resources such as Student Counseling Services (New Tab), Student Assistance and Support (New Tab), Wellness Promotion (New Tab), and Collegiate Recovery Community (New Tab).
- Connecting students with resources, many found on this Red Folder Website.
- Accountability of behaviors, through processes and procedures focused on community standards, due process, and the health and safety of our community.
Please use this Red Folder as a guide and resource for you as a faculty or staff member. If you have any questions related to the Red Folder, please call 205-934-4175.
