The federal Health Insurance Portability and Accounting Act of 1996 (HIPAA) protects the confidentiality of communications between health professionals and their patients. At the Student Health Center, information about a student with others is not discussed without written consent, except as required by law.
This includes information related to diagnosis and treatment of students.
