Employees and students who bring canned goods, school supplies or hygiene products to the Hill Student Center Nov. 27 will receive up to $30 off one UAB parking citation. The annual Parking Amnesty Day is organized by the Undergraduate Student Government Association to benefit the on-campus food bank Blazer Kitchen.
Donated goods will be collected on the ground floor of the HSC near the One Stop entrance, and employees and students should bring their unpaid paper citation or know their license plate number. Hygiene items can include feminine hygiene products, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, deodorant, dental and shaving products, laundry detergent and household cleaners.
“Parking Amnesty Day is a great way for our unit to partner with the USGA and the Blazer Kitchen to help give back to campus,” said André Davis, director of UAB Transportation. “The Blazer Kitchen helps so many members of our UAB family.”
The Blazer Kitchen has provided more than 85,000 meals to more than 280 students and 380 employees since it opened in March 2017 in UAB Medical Towers Suite 100. RSVP to the event on Facebook.
