Harper elected to state nursing hall of fame
Doreen Harper, Ph.D., dean of the School of Nursing, has been selected as a 2015 inductee into the Alabama Nursing Hall of Fame, which recognizes nurses and others who, through their work and accomplishments, have brought honor and fame to the profession of nursing and the state.

Technology lets researchers focus on discovery, not paperwork
The Integrated Research Administration Portal (IRAP) is delivering faster processing times and increased transparency throughout the application and protocols process at UAB. Its software tools and newly streamlined workflows have cut as many as 20 days from turn-around times in research administration offices.

Translational research training program is accepting applications
Junior faculty and postdoctoral fellows who are interested in an academic career in clinical and translational research are invited to apply for a six-month (January-June) certificate program. Classes will be held 8-10 a.m. Wednesdays. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Nov. 16.
