UAB is looking for participants for a study investigating the effects of a new study medication on symptoms of fibromyalgia. We are looking for women aged 25-65 who are diagnosed with fibromyalgia OR are experiencing chronic widespread bodily pain. Participants will come to UAB for 7 study visits over a 3-month period. Participants will be compensated for completing all study visits.

Clinical Study for Patients with Dry Eye Associated with Sjögren’s Disease. If you are an adult with Dry Eye Disease associated with Sjögren’s, you may be eligible to take part in a clinical research study being conducted by Sylentis S.A.U. The purpose is to compare the study eye drop to placebo (eyedrop without medication) in treating the signs and symptoms of Dry Eye associated with Sjögren’s.

You may be eligible to take part in the SYL1001_V Study if:
• You are 18 years or older
• You have a diagnosis of Sjögren’s
• Other entry criteria apply and your eligibility will be determined by
the study staff


If you decide to take part in the study, your participation could last approximately 3.5 months and consist of 5 to 6 visits to the study center. You will be reimbursed for each completed visit.

If you are a woman ages 55-90, you may qualify to participate in a research study evaluating a new treatment for osteoporosis. Eligible participants will receive study medication, and will be compensated up to $450 for completed visits. The UAB Neuroinflammation, Pain and Fatigue Lab is looking for individuals to take part in a research study. We will induce a temporary immune response and test how this affects fibromyalgia symptoms and markers of immune activity. You will be asked to come in for a screening session and, if eligible, two experimental sessions. You will be compensated up to $1025. Participants must have fibromyalgia, not be pregnant or currently planning to become pregnant, be without any significant medical conditions such as heart disease, and not currently using opioid medications. The UAB Division of Rheumatology and Immunology is conducting a study to research the effects of Rheumatoid Arthritis on muscle strength and insulin. To qualify, you must be between the ages of 35 and 65, not be diagnosed with diabetes or any other illness that may impair evaluation of study outcomes, and do not engage in a strength training program or vigorous exercise. All participants will be required to come to UAB for testing on 3 or more occasions and qualified RA participants will receive a 15-week regimen of the study drug.
