Funded by the National Cancer Institute, Harvest for Health is an at-home gardening intervention for cancer survivors who have completed their primary cancer treatment.
Our goal is to learn how cancer survivors respond to gardening by measuring diet quality, physical activity, physical function (grip strength, walking speed, balance test), quality of life, and markers of inflammation and healthy aging in blood and nails.
Reserve your spot in being one of the 426 cancer survivors within the state to participate in this trial! Our Participate page has all the details.
All of our participants receive free gardening supplies, plants, and seeds along with monthly mentoring from Master Gardeners with the Cooperative Extension. Also, yard space is not necessary as participants can choose either a 4' x 8’ raised bed or four smaller garden containers (29” x 14”).
