Spring commencement ceremonies, doctoral hooding at UAB on April 29
At least 2,015 students will graduate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and approximately 1,250 are expected to walk in the spring 2017 commencement ceremonies happening 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Bartow Arena.

Disability Support Services offers a simulation experience
UAB Disability Support Services presents its first Disability Experience event the week of April 10. UAB students, faculty and staff have volunteered to experience a disability simulation, ranging from low vision to mobility limitations.

Remembering Our Blazers: A Memorial Gathering
The Division of Student Affairs invites the UAB community to join us for a memorial gathering as we will remember the students, faculty and staff we have lost this past year. Students give back during Alternative Spring Break 2017 in New Orleans

Hammock park opens soon
A new hammock park, located near Rast Hall, will open just in time for students returning from Spring Break. The park, opening March 29, is a solution to the ever-growing use of portable hammocks around campus, which can damage young trees.

Campus Recreation's Summer Swim School is now open for registration. The classes are available for the entire Birmingham community and will remain open until filled.

Student Affairs' first staff bake-off a sweet treat
The Student Affairs Dessert Bake-Off Competition presented by the Professional Development Committee was a huge success. The winner of the competition was Brandon Brown of Student Housing and Residence Life who made TwoMama’s Skillet Apple Pie. Brandon also won the People’s Choice Award.
