Blazer Productions Assistants
Blazer Productions Assistants provide monthly social and educational events for all students. These activities focus on the areas within the wheel of life. Events provide opportunities to connect with their peers and other members of the UAB community as well as increase their sense of belonging. Blazer Productions Assistants are paid student employees that report to the Student Activities area of Student Involvement & Leadership.

Blazer Productions Assistants exist to provide monthly programming that fosters student connections to campus and the community and enhances personal growth and development.

Eligibility Requirements
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior classification for 2024-2025 academic year
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative UAB GPA the semester prior to applying
- Maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative UAB GPA during the 2024-2025 year
- Previous involvement or experience with planning events or marketing and outreach

Expectations & Time Commitment
- Blazer Productions Assistants serve the full academic year including summer opportunities.
- Term of employment: April 1 – March 31

Blazer Productions Assistants are employed student leaders. Working hours will be spent planning and preparing for events and activities during office hours and facilitating events at their designated date and time. Assistants are expected to work 6-10 hours per week during the fall & spring semesters, including event days. They are expected to work 4-6 hours per week in the summer (May-July) as outlined by supervisor.
- Some summer hours may be worked remotely, but only if the work being completed is conducive to remote work and if approved by the supervisor in advance of the work being completed.
- Work schedules are determined by the Blazer Productions Assistants’ supervisor and will consider class schedules.
- Blazer Productions Assistants will participate in biweekly one-to-one meetings and monthly team meetings with the supervisor as well as additional trainings as necessary.
- The assistants should be comfortable working independently to plan and execute events as well as collaborate with the team and campus partners when deemed appropriate. They should also be creative and open to programming for all student populations.

Position Overview
Blazer Productions Assistants (Event Planners)
Plan and implement a total of 2 events per month related to at least one area of the wheel of life: fun & recreation, school/career, relationships, finances, mental & physical wellness, personal growth. The Blazer Productions Assistants collaborate with student organizations or campus departments to create intentional programming opportunities that align with event themes.
Blazer Productions Assistant (Marketing & Outreach Managers)
Create marketing strategies to ensure student participation in all events. Manage social media accounts and develop creative content to increase student engagement on social media such as videos, polls, trivia, event highlights, etc.
