Grayson Pugh is a sophomore from Birmingham, Alabama studying marketing. He recently sat down with Collat's Alumni & Development Office to share his experiences at UAB and the Collat School of Business.

Q:  What made you choose to attend UAB Collat?

A:  I chose the UAB Collat School of Business because I was given the option to explore pretty much anything that interests me. I do not have to be tied down to one singular thing here at the Collat School of Business!

Q:  What is your favorite part about Collat?

A: The people here at Collat has to be my favorite part. Collat is like its own little community within UAB. Everyone treats each other like family. No one is really a stranger in the school of business.

Q:  Who is your favorite professor or class and why?

A: The best class I have taken so far would probably have to be BUS 101 (Introduction to Business). This class really sets you up for the rest of your time in the School Business. You get a chance to learn about all the majors offered at Collat. You also get the chance to perfect your resume, go through a mock career fair, and so much more. This class is really just a semester long tutorial for the business school.

Q:  The store I frequent the most is __________________.

A: Goodwill! I never know what I am going to find when I go out to thrift stores. It makes shopping fun for me.

Q:  Describe your day in six words.

A:  Way too short to be wasted.

Q:  If you could invite four people to dinner (dead or alive) who would they be and why?

A:  Kobe Bryant, because he has the greatest mentality of all time. Dave Chapelle, because he is my favorite comedian of all time. Gordon Ramsey, because he might end up wanting to cook the meal. And even though she is not a person, my dog has to take the final seat. There is no one I would rather be around than my dog.

Q:  What’s the closed thing to you that is green?

A:  My UAB one card. It never leaves my side.

Q:  Who are the people who make your life better?

A:  Everyone who I work with in the Welcome Center. I have never been in a bad mood in that office, and I have to credit that to Mrs. Tull, AMP, and James.

Q:  What is the best advice you ever received?

A:  Don’t let other people write your script.
