The UAB Collat School of Business Career Center team took center stage at the 2024 Alabama Association of Colleges and Employers (AACE) Summer Conference in Huntsville, AL, in July.

A keynote presenter at the conference, the team delivered a presentation titled “Elevating Employer Partnerships to Infinity and Beyond,” focusing on how the team built robust partnerships with influential organizations, including the Birmingham Business Alliance and the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce.

The team's presence at the conference highlighted their commitment to expanding opportunities for UAB students through strategic collaborations with industry leaders. Andreia Stechmann, assistant director of employer engagement at Collat, was installed as the new president of AACE for the 2024-2025 term.

“I am honored to serve in an organization dedicated to driving greater opportunities and career services for students across Alabama while also showcasing the Collat School of Business as a leader in student success and positive outcomes post-graduation,” she said.

Additionally, UAB student Josh Jackson, a senior majoring in entrepreneurship, was honored with the Best Audiovisual Award at the AACE conference. His video highlighted Birmingham's vibrant career space and promoted networking opportunities for Collat’s business students. The video has since become a powerful tool in promoting the Collat Career Center to recruiters and industry partners, further connecting students with internships and job opportunities.
