Dr. Madison Clark is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. She earned her B.A. in History from Auburn University Montgomery before earning her Dual Master's in History and Applied Women's Studies from Claremont Graduate University in Southern California, where she focused on how patriarchy was enhanced in Black communities during Reconstruction. She earned her PhD in African American and African Diaspora Department from Indiana University, where her research focused on Afro-Brazilian identity during Confederate families migrating to Brazil after the US Civil War. While her research focuses on race relations in Brazil, she is also passionate about Black sexuality throughout the United States, particularly in regards to polyamory. She loves Michael Jackson, Star Wars, and all things Disney.
