The Anthropology Honors Program provides outstanding undergraduates with opportunities for advanced study and faculty mentorships. Qualified students in the program take additional coursework in anthropology and research. The honors program is ideal for students who want to continue to graduate or professional programs, especially programs that are internationally oriented. Students who complete the program will receive a certificate at the annual UAB Honors Convocation and will graduate "With Honors in Anthropology."
Eligibility
Students who wish to join the Anthropology Honors program must satisfy the following eligibility requirements:
- Anthropology major
- Must have a minor
- Ongoing maintenance of an overall 3.0 GPA and a 3.5 GPA in anthropology
- Completion of approved statistics or world language course in addition to anthropology coursework
