Members also participate in the Public Relations Society of America, the largest public relations organization comprised of over 10,000 public relations professionals in the United States, Argentina, and Peru in various leadership roles, including past service as the student regional ambassador and author of a PRSA blog. In 2023 the UAB Program won the Outstanding Chapter Award, Chapter Campaign Award, Best Chapter Award, Community Service Award, Chapter Diversity Award, and Chapter Website Award. One of our students also received the PR Strategist Award and Wordsmith Award. The UAB Program has received the STAR chapter award from the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) for the last four years. Three of our students won scholarships from PRSSA in 2022. UAB PRCA/PRSSA competes successfully against similar student organizations across the nation and students sit on national committees and are active in the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
PRCA/PRSSA at UAB is an extremely active group, always looking for young professionals who wish to excel in this field! The organization conducts workshops, hosts panels and networking events, and participates in service-based learning in the community.
As a member of the PRCA/PRSSA at UAB, students will have the unique opportunity to network and share ideas with fellow peers and local public relations professionals. Education and professional development are key elements to the success of this organization.
