Barrett R. and Oceana A. Bryant Endowed Awards

The Bryant scholarships are annual awards to CS undergraduate and graduate students, to support travel to a conference. Money must be used to support conference costs (travel, hotel, registration).

For undergraduate students, the maximum amount of support is $200. For Ph.D. students, the maximum amount of support is $300 for domestic travel and $500 for international travel. A student can receive at most one award per calendar year. Awards to eligible students are made until the available funds for undergraduates (40%) and graduates (60%) are exhausted for that academic year, in the order that applications are received.

Since this award is awarded many times per year, at staggered intervals as students get their papers accepted to conferences, it is not administered through the BSMART system.

The Fontana Scholarships are annual awards to exceptional CS juniors and seniors. A generous contribution by Dr. Jeanne Hutchison in memory of her husband Joseph M. Award may only be used for tuition, student fees, books, laboratory fees, supplies, and other items deemed appropriate by the selection committee. The award may be renewed for a second year, and awardees are encouraged to apply for renewal.
