Margaret D. Bond is a native of Birmingham, AL. She received her BA in Economics and French Language and Literature with Distinction from the University of Virginia in 2000. After UVA, Margaret moved to France to sharpen her language skills. As an Assistante de Langue, she taught English to French lycée students and realized that language and culture are her true passion. Margaret then returned to Birmingham and UAB to complete her MAE in Secondary French Education and BA in Music in 2003. She was the 2005 AAFLT "Most Promising Foreign Language Teacher" and the 2005 SCOLT French Embassy Scholarship Recipient.
Margaret teaches introductory through advanced French courses. She believes that integrating current media into the classroom helps develop a globally prepared student. Margaret currently serves as Treasurer of the Alliance Française de Birmingham opens a new website and leads the UAB in Paris Education Abroad program during the month of May.
