About Emily Sladek

Emily Sladek is from Dripping Springs, Texas. In her words:

It took me a long time to come out as disabled and queer. There was so much to unpack around body dysmorphia from a patriarchal and Crip perspective. It was difficult to know where one identity ended and another began.

My journey of coming out as both disabled and queer happened roughly together. The two communities have so much in common. I wanted a tattoo that claimed my identities that I couldn’t hide and that reflected who I am back to me as a matter of pride.
