September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness of this stigmatized, and often taboo, topic and an opportunity to shift public perception, spread hope, and ensure anyone affected by suicide has access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and seek help. Throughout the month of September, the UAB Employee Assistance & Counseling Center is hosting virtual training events and sharing life-saving information and resources from the National Institute of Mental Health.
