Housing, Environment, and Living Conditions for Transformed Health
What is HEALTHe Birmingham?
HEALTHe Birmingham is a UAB research project funded by the National Institutes of Health. It will help us understand how housing and neighborhood revitalization affect health.
Why is this important?
Living conditions affect people's physical and mental health.
Specifically we will look at how health is impacted by:
- Public Housing Renovation
- Indoor Air Purification
- Neighborhood Improvements: street lights, trees, sidewalks, infant care, children's programs, workforce development, high-speed internet
How can I get involved?
If you are a resident of any of these communities, you can be involved in each step of the project. You can become a study participant, help recruit other participants, or be trained to collect data in a paid part-time position.
- Southtown Court
- Elyton Village
- Smithfield Court
- Collegeville Center
- Smithfield, College Hills, and Graymont Neighborhoods
