Many of the projects from the section have won awards at national conferences and in journals. The Sports Medicine Section is one of the most productive research groups nationally. As part of the department's research program, study topics within the section include but are not limited to knee, shoulder, hip, arthroscopy, cartilage, tendon and ligament repair, arthroplasty, and practice management. The team routinely publishes in leading journals including Arthroscopy, AJSM, JBJS, CORR, and JSES.
