Certified TBL trainer consultants will be offering an intensive, four-day workshop Aug. 13-15 and Aug. 21 to explore the fundamentals of team-based learning and help faculty completely develop a module for one of their courses.
UAB has a quality enhancement plan (QEP) as part of its SACSCOC accreditation; the theme is Learning in a Team Environment. There are many ways to incorporate team-focused teaching in the classroom, but one of the best is TBL .
This TBL Fundamentals Series will enable faculty to explore ideas for research opportunities based in your own classes and significantly increase the teaching portfolio. Participants will completely develop a TBL module for one of their courses and receive help designing lessons, writing questions and presenting feedback to students. Participants who complete the workshop will receive a certificate from the Team-Based Learning Collaborative and a one-year membership with the TBLC, which provides access to its extensive database of TBL questions, expert help and a rich array of articles on applying TBL in the classroom.
