UAB buildings and other real property are insured through the State Insurance Fund, administered by the State of Alabama Division of Risk Management. All property damage should be reported to University Risk Management as soon as possible.
Property Insurance Request Form
Newly constructed or newly renovated buildings are covered automatically until the policy expiration date (September 30th). For coverage to continue on the policy renewal date (October 1st), the Property Insurance Request form must be completed. UAB Property Loss or Damage Claim Guidelines
Damage to UAB buildings or building contents should be reported to the UAB Office of Risk Management as soon as practical by completing this online form.
Additionally, losses may be reported to Risk Management by calling James Erwin at 205-934-5633.
