2023 Spring Grad Week

Celebrating UAB Spring Graduates

April 23-29, 2023

The Blazer Spirit Council within the Office of Student Involvement & Leadership in partnership with Off-Campus Student & Family Engagement, UAB National Alumni Society, and UAB Career Center host Grad Week to celebrate all UAB graduates. We hope to promote exploration of post-graduation opportunities, increase school spirit and campus pride, and forge community among soon-to-be UAB alumni. This week of activities will celebrate graduating undergraduates, graduate students, and professional students and their many accomplishments. Follow the Blazer Spirit Council on Instagram (@uab_blazerspirit) for event details and updates.

Use the following hashtags all weekend long: #UABgraduates and #UABclassof2023.

Family t-shirts will be available for sale during the ceremonies while supplies last. Click the link below to submit photos for the Grad Cap Decoration Contest and Grad Photo Gallery by December 4th. You can also RSVP for events.

Grad Week Spring 2023 Schedule

  • Grad Brunch | Sunday, April 23 | Location: HSC Ballrooms | 10:30 AM | RSVP Here

    Join the Blazer Spirit Council for the annual Grad Brunch. This event is open and free for spring graduates and up to 2 guests. Attendees must RSVP. Attendees will receive access to the full brunch menu, refreshments, and a mocktail for the annual Grad Toast.

  • Grad Movie Night feat. Lemonade Mouth | Monday, April 24 | Location: HSC Alumni Theater | 6:00 PM

    Join the Blazer Spirit Council for one last movie night before you’re officially a UAB alumni. No RSVP needed for this event.

  • Grad Cookies & Canvas | Tuesday, April 25 | Location: HSC Rm. 316 & 318 | 5:00 | RSVP Here

    Join the Blazer Spirit Council for a painting event featuring a UAB inspired design. All participants will be able to take home a paining to serve as a memento of their time at UAB. An RSVP is required for this event.

  • Grad Photo Contest & Grad Cap Decorating Contest | All Week | Location

    Upload a picture of your decorated graduation cap on Engage. Students will vote for the winners. Make sure to follow the Blazer Spirit Council on Instagram @uab_blazerspirit to cast your vote!

  • Commencement Swag & Refreshment | Friday, April 28 | Location: Bartow Arena-Outdoor Concourse

    The Blazer Spirit Council will be passing out UAB swag for graduates as well as cookies and bottled water as participants are waiting for the commencement ceremonies to begin!

Almost Alumni Keepsakes

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! We are excited to be able to welcome you to the UAB alumni family. As you look ahead to what is next, our hope is that you stay connected with UAB through the National Alumni Society. You can continue to turn to us as your lifelong connection to your alma mater.

Graduation Medallion

Show your pride for UAB and remember your graduation forever. By giving a minimum amount, you can make a difference. Make your gift and you will receive a keepsake commemorative medallion to remember your graduation. Each medallion has the UAB monogram on one side and the Blaze logo on the other.
