SOD celebrated UAB Homecoming 2024 with week of activities
Themed “The Blazer Tour,” UAB Homecoming Week 2024 was October 27 – November 2.
From the Gurney Derby and a Homecoming Carnival to a Blaze the Night Block Party, UAB packed its annual Homecoming week full of fun for students and employees alike. The UAB Homecoming Parade – Friday, Nov. 1 started on 14th Street South and ended on University Boulevard. The week culminated with the UAB Football annual Homecoming game vs Tulsa on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Protective Stadium.
A highlight of the week, the SOD D1 Class showed their Blazer spirit by participating in UAB NAS’s second annual Blazer Build It Competition on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The event is a revamp of UAB’s building-decoration contest. Following tradition, first year dental students participated in the spirited competition among schools.
The School of Dentistry added a few of its own activities to celebrate the week and enhance Blazer spirit among dental students, residents, and employees. Check out the exciting lineup!
