Shelia McGee Ingram, PhD

Shelia McGee Ingram, PhD

Ingram is an assistant professor and Director of Clinical Experiences for the teacher education program. She joins the UAB School of Education and Human Sciences from the University of Alabama. Ingram received her PhD in Education in Secondary Education and Teaching from the University of Alabama in 2013. She will be directing the Office of Clinical Experiences for the school, ensuring students are well-equipped for their student teaching internships and field experiences.

Jonan Donaldson, PhD

Jonan Donaldson, PhD

Donaldson is an assistant professor and the Instructional Design and Development graduate program coordinator. He joined the UAB School of Education and Human Sciences from Texas A&M, where he served as a learning scientist and taught courses in the learning sciences, educational research, technology, critical pedagogy, and more. He earned his PhD in Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Drexel University in 2019 after earning his Master of Education in Information Technology from Western Oregon University in 2010.

Christopher Ballmann, PhD

Christopher Ballmann, PhD

Ballmann is an associate professor in the kinesiology program at UAB. He joined UAB from Samford University after serving as a faculty member in their kinesiology department. Ballmann earned his PhD in Science and Mathematics in Exercise Physiology from Auburn University. His research is on various topics ranging from physical performance to music volume and performance effects.

Miyoshi Juergensen, PhD

Miyoshi Juergensen, PhD

Juergensen is an assistant professor of educational leadership. She joined the educational leadership faculty after serving as an assistant professor of teacher leadership at Kennesaw State University. Her research focuses on historical African-American teacher leadership and current teacher-leaders beliefs and practices about improving schooling for all students. Juergensen earned her PhD in Educational Administration and Supervision from Emory University in 2016.

Matthew McKenzie, PhD

Matthew McKenzie, PhD

McKenzie is a visiting instructor of Counseling at UAB. Before that, he served as the Director of Clinical Training at Bradford Health Services. He completed his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans. His research focuses on the impact of counselors' compassion fatigue and the utilization of motivational interviewing in counseling and health-related fields.
