Earn your Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education!
UAB’s BS in Early Childhood Education helps prepare students become teachers that assist young children in reaching developmental milestones from birth to third grade. Students in this program are passionate about helping young children learn and develop strong foundations to help them succeed.
The program is designed to give our students the tools and knowledge to feel confident in their classrooms, creating lesson plans and learning activities, and implementing effective assessments to help every child they teach receive a high-quality education from a well-trained and prepared professional.

Major
Early Childhood program coursework and all requirements outlined in the UAB undergraduate catalog will receive a baccalaureate degree and be eligible to apply for Alabama Class B professional teaching certificates in early childhood education.

Curriculum
Professional preparation includes courses in humanistic and behavioral studies, elementary education, curriculum and teaching, evaluation of teaching and learning, extensive pre-internship field experiences in birth through third grade settings, and an internship.
