Fast Track Masters Program
The Fast-Tack Master's plan is a special accelerated program that allows students to complete both a B.S. and M.S. degree in five years. Students admitted to the program can take graduate courses during their senior year at undergraduate tuition rates and have these courses count toward the master's degree.
After completing the B.S.C.E. degree, Fast-track Master's students continue pursuing their M.S.C.E. degree without having to take the GRE exam. The program is open to highly qualified undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor's degree at UAB in civil engineering.
For full consideration for admission, students should satisfy the following requirements before applying:
- Students should be within 48 hours of obtaining their B.S.C.E. degree.
- At least 15 hours of course work must have been completed at UAB.
- Overall GPA for all college courses must be 3.0 or greater.
- The following benchmark courses must have been completed with at least a B grade: CE 236: Environmental Engineering, CE 337: Hydraulics, CE 345: Transportation Engineering, and CE 360: Structural Analysis.
