Second Floor
The 2nd floor renovation includes an ADA accessible entryway, a new waiting area for our clinical patients and research clients, and a calorimeter suite for research.
Calorimeter Suite
This is a unique space. Very few institutions have a calorimeter room - we are building a suite with three rooms. Each room is designed to monitor a person's metabolism for 24 hours. This is critical since rates vary by time of the day, activity level, exercise and food intake. Each room will be available for meal testing. The flex room and the largest room can accommodate a stationery bicycle for exercise testing.
Each room is a different size - small, medium and large. The rooms are similar to a dorm room with a full-size bed plus a desk and chair. The large room includes a stationary bicycle for exercise tests.
