- If you are lying on your back, roll to your side. When you roll, visualize your trunk (torso) as a log so that you don’t twist your spine.
- To roll like a log to the left, tighten your belly muscles and reach with your right arm as you push with your right leg. To roll like a log to the right, tighten your belly muscles and reach with your left arm as you push with your left leg.
- Once you are lying on your side, push away from the bed with your arms as you drop your legs over the side of the bed.
