Dr. Hy Truong Son is currently a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of Alabama at Birmingham. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Chicago. Prior to his faculty appointment, he has been a Lecturer and Postdoctoral Fellow in the Halicioglu Data Science Institute, University of California San Diego. During his PhD study, he has done several internships at Google and Facebook.

HySonLab, Dr. Hy Truong Son's group, focuses on AI for Science and Engineering, especially deep learning for drug discovery and drug repurposing. His team includes several talented students and engineers.
