The news flash module allows you to display articles from your site limited to a specific category and/or specific tags.
How to use
- Category
- The category you want to pull articles from.
- Tags
- Limit the articles displayed to articles with specific tag(s).
- Show Article Image
- Show or hide article images
- Show Intro/Full Image
- If showing images, show either the intro and full article image.
- Article Title
- Show or hide the article title.
- Linked Titles
- Link article titles. Note: For some layout options, this does not link the title.
- Header Level
- Select the heading level that is appropriate for the placement on the page.
- Trigger Plugin Events
- This is an advanced feature. Can be set to no in most instances.
- Last Separator
- Has been disabled in most layouts.
- Intro Text
- Shows or hides the intro text.
- Read More Link
- Shows a read more that links to the article. In some layouts, the read more is not displayed, but the entire element becomes clickable.
- Number of Articles
- The number of articles you want to display.
- Featured Articles
- Whether you want to show/hide or only show featured articles.
- Exclude Current Article
- Shows or hides the current article.
- Order Results
- Options for ordering the results.
- Direction
- Set acending or decending order.

Hannah Morrison has been awarded the $10,000 Optometry Cares 2023 Bernard Maitenaz Scholarship. To compete for the scholarship, the UAB School of Optometry student created a social media toolkit about the importance of comprehensive eye exams for children beginning at six months of age.
