Name of Committee: UAB Enterprise Emergency Management Committee (EEMC)

Mission Statement: The UAB Enterprise Emergency Management Committee (EEMC) is the multidisciplinary group charged with the oversight of a comprehensive emergency management program, facilitating institutional collaboration, resource-sharing, monitoring activities and planning document review to assure compliance with regulatory agencies and the accrediting bodies related to emergency management.

The committee is comprised of UAB Medicine entities (UAB Hospital, TKC/HSF, and Callahan Eye Hospital), UAB Environmental Health & Safety, Police, Media Relations, administration, and others from the UAB campus academic, research and athletics groups as appropriate.

Committee Objectives:
  1. Provide oversight for the mitigation, preparation, response and recovery related to emergencies that may impact UAB.
  2. Review identified threats, potential hazards, adverse events, and assess the impact on the varied UAB interests.
  3. Adopt an all-hazards approach to emergency management to address a range of emergencies regardless of cause.
  4. Exercise, evaluate, and revise as appropriate emergency planning and response documents.
