Committee Objectives:
The University Safety Committee (USC) meets quarterly and is charged with protecting the health and safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors; the environment; and preventing damage and loss to University property.

The USC uses a "peer review" model and members represent key departments from across campus, including faculty and students. The Committee will also serve as a forum for the discussion of topics of interest and concern, and the members of the Committee will act as liaison between the Committee and the constituencies they represent. The committee reviews and advises the upper administration on matters relating to the health and safety, including:
  • Proposed or amended campus safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Reports of potential physical hazards and practices, injuries or illnesses and actual losses, and makes recommendations for actions to be taken.
