UAB’s Collegiate Recovery Community to host open house on Sept. 12
The Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) is excited to invite students to their open house on Tuesday, September 12 to celebrate Blazer Welcome! From 2 to 6 p.m. participants can enjoy light refreshments as they mix and mingle with the CRC’s current members and staff.

Blazer Market Route adds new route starting Sept. 9
UAB Transportation and Student Assistance & Support are delighted to announce an additional stop to the Blazer Market Route. Starting September 9, beloved local shop, Hometown Supermarket will be the route’s newest grocery store alongside other stops which include Walmart, Mi Pueblo, and Super Oriental Market.

UAB Panhellenic Recruitment kicks off August 15
The College Panhellenic Council (CPC) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham will host recruitment prior to the start of the fall 2023 semester. Panhellenic Recruitment will include Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Gamma, Kappa Delta and Sigma Kappa.

Student move-in set for Aug. 16-20
As students begin arriving on campus for the fall semester, UAB Transportation recommends traveling an alternate route to work Aug. 16-20, when the highest number of students will be moving into on-campus housing.

RECAP: STUDENT AFFAIRS HOSTS ONE DAY CONFERENCE
UAB Student Affairs’ professional development committee hosted the 2023 One-Day Conference on May 10. The theme of the event was “Promoting a Culture of Well-Being: Pathways Forward”.
More than 120 Blazers attended the free event that was open to all Student Affairs professionals and students. UAB staff presented their work and best practices in the profession. Paul Erwin, MD, DrPH, dean of the School of Public Health at UAB gave the keynote talk on Health Promoting Universities.
