How to Request Ambassadors
Ambassadors are permitted to conduct tours, host events, escort visitors, and usher guests for official University events and activities. Requests should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event. The Ambassador Program strives to accommodate all requests while respecting the Ambassadors’ academic and co-curricular schedules.
Please adhere to the following guidelines for UAB Ambassador assignments:
- Ambassadors are permitted to conduct tours, host events, escort visitors, and usher.
Any requests falling outside of these parameters will be declined. - Ambassadors are only permitted to work events which are uniform appropriate. Events which require t-shirts, polos, or other non-uniform items will not be approved, even if the supplemental attire is provided.
- Ambassadors are not permitted to serve food/alcohol.
- Ambassadors are not permitted to stand in inclement weather or extreme heat (over °90 F).
In the event of unexpected, inclement weather, Ambassadors should be provided shelter. If shelter is not provided, the Ambassadors are not required to continue working the event. - Ambassadors are not permitted to assist with event set-up.
- Assignments should be limited to the hours of:
- Sunday – Thursday: 7:30am to 10:00pm
- Friday - Saturday: 7:00am to 12:00am
- Only request the necessary number of Ambassadors. There is no guarantee that we can meet the requested number, but if provided enough advance notice, we will do our best
- Allow 10 minute bathroom breaks for events lasting more than two hours.
- Please be prepared to provide event parking instructions for Ambassadors when submitting your request form.
