Dr. Gardner is an associate professor of forensic chemistry in the Department of Criminal Justice. Her primary research interest is psychoactive drugs, including emerging drugs of abuse, online pharmaceuticals, and drug contamination of currency. In addition, she has research projects focused on identifying bullet holes in the absence of GSR, developing methods for developing latent fingerprints, and identifying gases characteristic of human burial sites.

Dr. Gardner’s research has appeared in the DEA Microgram Journal, Drug Testing and Analysis, and the Journal of Forensic Sciences.
