Research Interests: Criminal law and procedure, trial advocacy and alternative dispute resolution, ethics and restorative justice
Teaching Interests: Dr. Mwenesongole has been instrumental in developing forensic science degree programs and courses in two countries. As a result, she has taught courses in various disciplines of forensic science such as hair and fibers (trace evidence), footwear, tire & fingerprint impressions, criminalistics, fire investigation, drugs of abuse, doping in sport, questioned documents.

Dr. Morgan is a professor of Criminal Justice and the director of the African American Studies Program.
Her research interests include corrections (specifically probation and parole), correctional health care policy, race and crime, and criminal justice policy. A recently developed line of research focuses on the death penalty and its application both nationally and in Alabama.
Dr. Morgan's forthcoming book is Beyond Theory: Probation and Parole in Practice.
