Tricia Phillips grew up in upstate New York and attended Hartwick College for her B.A. in Mathematics where she also gained experience teaching internationally. From there, she attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she obtained her M.S. and Ph.D. in Mathematics. She was an Assistant Professor at Birmingham-Southern College before joining the Department of Mathematics at UAB as a faculty member in 2023. She teaches a variety of undergraduate courses incorporating various teaching methods to enhance the experience of her students and performs research in mathematical biology. Dr. Phillips is passionate about undergraduate education and making STEM accessible to all, as well as interdisciplinary collaboration.
