1917 Clinic is part of the UAB Health System and accepts all insurance plans accepted by UAB. Please bring your insurance card with you to your medical and dental clinic visits.
2. How do I obtain refills on my medicines?
If you have refills remaining on your prescription, you may contact your preferred pharmacy for refills. If your preferred pharmacy is the UAB Medical Center (1917 Clinic). please call the clinic at (205) 934-1917 and press the option for the pharmacy. Please leave a message with your full name, date of birth, phone number, and the medication(s) you wish to refill. We recommend you contact the pharmacy at least two days before you medication runs out.
If you do not have refills remaining on your prescription, please contact your clinic nurse. Please note, that you may not receive additional refills if you have had excessive missed visits and/or you have not been seen by your primary medical team in the last six months.
All requests for medication refills will be handled during regular business hours.
3. What is our policy concerning control substances or narcotics?
The decision to start or continue a controlled substance or narcotic will be made at the discretion of the medical team.
You may be required to sign a controlled substance agreement. Violation of this agreement will result in discontinuation of your prescription.
Prescriptions for narcotics are usually only allowed to be filled every twenty-eight (28) days. Only the patient for whom it is prescribed may pick up narcotics.
