A University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing student and student organization have been recognized by the university for their leadership and excellence on campus.
They were honored at the 2014 Student Excellence Awards Ceremony, held at the Alys Stephen’s Center on the UAB campus, Wed., April 23, 2014.
Zach Whiting, second semester UAB School of Nursing BSN student, received the Rising Star Award. This award recognizes a student who has worked to enhance personal leadership skills within an organization on campus or in the community, has established extracurricular involvement at UAB, and exhibits the potential and desire for continued leadership within the university community.
The UAB Student Nurses Association (SNA) received the Outstanding Student Organization Award. Morgan Taylor Hinkle and Zach Whiting accepted the award on behalf of the SNA. This award recognizes a student organization for its success and support of student development, leadership, and community involvement.
The Student Excellence Awards Ceremony is held annually and serves as an opportunity to honor UAB student’s exceptional achievements.
