Become a First Impact Member
First Impact members, or mentees, are selected during the summer months as first-year students attend New Student Orientation. The first 100 students who submit a registration form and meet the qualifications for membership are accepted into the program.

Registration deadline: August 4 at 11:59p.m.
In addition to submitting a completed application, students must pay a $50 membership fee. This one-time fee covers one t-shirt and two meals associated with First Impact’s kick-off experience, Blazers@BHM.
Qualifications
- Must be an enrolled, first-time Freshman student for the fall 2024 semester
- Maintain a minimum of 12 hours of enrollment each semester during thr 2024-2025 academic year
- Submit an application and membership fee
Expectations
- Participate in First Impact cohort experiences including Blazers@BHM and the winter-break service experience
- Attend two meetings per month, hosted on Tuesdays at 5:00p.m.
Refund Policy
Refund policy: Should a student decide not to participate in First Impact after submitting a registration form and payment, they are eligible for a full refund until 11:59pm on August 4. After that date, students are eligible for a 50% refund until August 9th at 11:59pm. No refund will be issued after August 9th.
