Mentor: Dr. Ryoichi Kawai
I graduated from University of Washington, Seattle and joined the UAB graduate program in 2018. I am currently working with Dr. Ryoichi Kawai, studying the role of basal ganglia and its associated neural circuits.
UAB Physics has provided me with opportunities to explore various avenues from working in an experimental environment, trying my hand at computational research to taking lean startup classes with the UAB business school. The program helped me pinpoint the area of research which interests me most and is very flexible in accommodating myriad passions. It is one of the most interdisciplinary programs and to my delight, I get to work on computational neuroscience research from a physics point of view. After graduate school, my goal is to find a suitable position which would enable me to further demystify the brain.
